Reiki Stories – Reiki and Epstein-Barr/Fibromyalgia

Reprinted from the Reiki News Magazine Winter 2014 issue

If you have taken a Reiki class or thinking about it and are not yet familiar with the Reiki News Magazine, I am here to say, this is a wonderful resource not to be missed out on.  I have stacks and stacks of these magazines that I keep through the years and reread. Plus I have them available for check out in the Rain Shadow Reiki lending library.

Here is a story of physical healing and determination to not give up on both the part of the Reiki Master and the client.  This, I believe is a great story to show that with Reiki, time, determination and patience, Reiki can heal us on all levels.  Reiki healing happens at the right time for each individual person.  We are not all meant to have instant miracles, but I believe with continued effort, we can get our miracles in different ways and times.  I pray it gives you some ideas about what is possible with Reiki.

Blessings, Josslyn

Reiki Stories from the Reiki News Magazine

Most of the stories in this section of Reiki News Magazine have been documented by before and after medical tests and the observations of licensed health care providers.  Please note that while Reiki can cause miraculous healing, it does not always do so.  However most patients receive some level of healing with the minimum benefit being relaxation and stress reduction.  If you have medical or psychological condition, it is recommended that you use Reiki in conjunction with the help of a licensed health care provider.

Reiki and Epstein-Barr/Fibromyalgia

I have suffered from the Epstein-Barr virus and Fibromyalgia pain since I was 19 years old.  I will be 39 in May.  I have seen so many doctors and have had so many tests and scans.  I’ve been on so many medications over the past 20 years — until recently I was taking 90 mg of morphine three times a day.  Upon waking, I walked like I had polio.  It hurt to sit, to stand, to walk.  I would not shake hands with anyone because of my hand pain.  My joint pain was the worst; every joint hurt all the time.  I would wince just to bend my arm.  I felt like this even while taking the morphine.  I also had three vertebrae fused in my back a year ago.  After the surgery the discs above and below the fusion were bulging, causing additional pain.  The morphine helped very little and I prayed to die just to end the pain I endured each day.

Reiki stopped all of the pain with the help of a wonderful Reiki Master, Susanna Glaze!!!  It took approximately four months.  I had two treatments a week.  Each treatment lasted 1.5 to 2 hours.  She did this and never asked for anything in return.  I did bring her crafts and art to trade for the Reiki treatments, and she always said it was too much.  I now pay her and it will never be enough because my pain is gone and I am off all morphine.  My life has changed so dramatically in the last four months.  My husband is astounded.  My friends can hardly believe this miracle.  They are all grateful and no one is as grateful as I am.  I have healed physically, emotionally and spiritually.  I could not have done this without the love and compassion of my good friend Susanna.  She taught me that the true meaning of Reiki is love, and there is nothing like the healing human touch.  Susanna is now teaching me Reiki and to honor its tradition and history.  I wish more people knew that Reiki really works.  — Danielle Wise, Carlsbad, N.M.

Wow! Powerful story! It’s empowering to think of what is possible!

    • Thanks Heather, that’s exactly why I was drawn to the story myself, the possibilities. Blessings to you for reading and commenting. I see you are going for the award for most comments again and I’m grateful for it!! Joss
